Mr. Jiang Lyu
Minister-Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of China

Mr. Lyu Jiang was appointed Minister-Counselor at the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in March 2022. Before that, he had been the Deputy Director-General of Trade Remedy Investigation Bureau (TRIB) at the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). Mr. Lyu joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995 and spent his first eight years as a translator and interpreter. He was appointed Deputy Director within the Bureau of Fair Trade, and then worked in MOFCOM’s Office for International Trade Negotiations and the Anti-Monopoly Bureau. In addition to above posts, he spent a total of four years working, on secondment, as senior-level official in local government (as county board deputy chief), China Iron & Steel Association, and a trading company.

Mr. Lyu graduated from the English Department of China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) with a B.A. and has a Master’s degree in international law from the University of Sydney Law School.
