Mr. Rufino Hurtado
Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative

Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Rufino Hurtado will depart Washington shortly for his new assignment as the senior U.S. trade representative in Brussels, where he will lead the U.S. mission’s engagement on trade relations with the EU.

We will convene a roundtable to share insights on the key topics of interest for U.S. companies operating in the EU, and hear about his key priorities as he takes his post in Brussels.

Mr. Hurtado has been serving as the Deputy Assistant USTR for agriculture and commodity policy since 2017. Prior to that role, he was the Director for Global Strategies at the Consumer Brands Association. The position followed several years in the U.S. government, including at the International Trade Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Small Business Association. DAUSTR Hurtado holds an MA from John Hopkins University, an MBA from the George Washington University, and a BA from Adelphi University.
